The food was great. The homefries were well seasoned. The pancakes are really cakey, which I like. The atmosphere is cozy. I highly recommend! More

Just left Joe’s…I had a ‘decent’ lunch but it wasn’t like the other experiences I’ve had there. I’ll just say, people are different and so not every waitress will treat you the same. I will not say it was ‘obnoxious’ it just wasn’t … More

A Fan institution! I grew up going here and the food is always solid. Great bar and awesome selection of draft beers. They also have a quieter side next door with a more formal dining area if the bar atmosphere isn’t your thing. Make sure to bring your appetite if you get the spaghetti though. All of the food is good and they don’t skimp on the portions. They even offer breakfast all day. The food is nothing that’s going to blow you away but it’s alway consistent and leaves you full and happy. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Highly recommend checking this spot out if you haven’t already.

I ate here today after being recommended to, and the food was great! I initially felt awkward taking up a bar spot since I did not drink, but the bartender did a wonderful job at taking my order and addressing my needs.

It was a very busy night, but the service was great! Our food was okay, the fries were especially tasty. Three of our party had a variation of the baked Spaghetti meals, but we found that while it was good, it wasn't fantastic. The portions … More

This place is cute and cozy. They do have space for a few larger tables and high chairs, but it's definitely not an easy place to go to with kids or a large group.
The food was alright. It was standard American food, but nothing amazing. It is nice that they have non-dairy cheese options for pizza.

They have non-dairy options for vegans. If you have a shellfish allergy, then this is not the place for you to have fried food.
Kid-friendliness
They have some high chairs but the space is so tight I would not go back with kids.

Firstly, the food was awesome. Turkey sub was moist and flavorful. The bread was on point it wasn't dry or falling apart. Onion Rings were definitely good as well, and they give GOOD SIZED portions. The staff seemed very friendly and consistently sought to see if anything was needed. More

Great atmosphere. 2nd time I've been there since I am from Georgia and travel up here for business. This time set at a table because the bar was full but Heidi my waitress was amazing. She made sure I had everything I needed and made sure I was very happy. Great to talk to and will definitely be going back because of the service she gave me!!! Even though she was super busy and I was just a table of one she gave me the same service as a table of 5.

Sure it's not your glamour white table cloth Michelin restaurant. But this is all about homey late night eat. Few eateries in Richmond operates this late. The no frill carb heavy menu hits the spot for those had a few extra glasses and missed 9pm dinner cutoff at most downtown food choices... Small but friendly staff with hearty portioned food, this 70+ years old local legend will remain my favorite regardless what my wife thinks😁😁😁!!!!!

Amazing!! Heard by word of mouth that THIS is the place for a good meal and meeting friends.
It was fantastic!! I had the baked Spaghetti with Marinara, Garlic bread, and the Portobello Mushroom Appetizer. Mouth watering and satisfying down deep. So rare to find good food thats fresh and made in house.
They have two doors, 1 goes into the restaurant which has 3 rows of tables. The 2nd door leads to the bar as well as a row of booths. We were seated within 8min of arrival and had drinking within 2 min.
The menu is extensive but it's all fresh and delicious. *Excited to do breakfast next time* They have a kids menu and serve breakfast till 2pm. I love this Gem in Richmond.

We ordered cheesesteak subs, grilled cheese ( which my favorite aunt enjoyed) and a tuna fish sandwich that were charcoal burnt and inedible. The waitress was flighty but she did have sense enough to get the manager involved when I told her our food was TERRIBLE. The manager then explained that he only worked 2 days per week but he wanted us to be satisfied and to make sure we had a good dining experience. SOOO…we ordered a pizza and were disappointed as well because it was the worst FROZEN PIZZA ever!!! That’s right, FROZEN PIZZA!! To top it off, the tiny booth we were trapped in had maple syrup spilled on the seat and got all over my favorite cousin’s pocket book and clothes. We’re never going back and hope this review is helpful to those considering joining the “woke” folks and eating there. By the way, our meal was comped as a final attempt to satisfy us but it still wasn’t enough. The best part of this experience was my time spent with my family. Poor Joe’s at the Fan is a horrible place to eat and is lucky to still be in business. If there was a way to rate this dive with a zero, guess what the score would be?

I enjoyed lunch here with a group of four. I had the homemade crab cake sandwich with fries. The sandwich was delicious but the fries were the shoestring type and not my favorite.
